Jane Mayer wrote a chilling account for the New Yorker of how the administration thwarted insiders’ moves to ban abuse and torture of U.S. detainees. Slate claims watching television is good for your kids. Or at least not harmful. But they never saw the test scores of my university English comp. students... Diebold machines forced on Californians. Just when their reliability is being officially questioned in Florida. Is Bush really better on security?
